Pucuk Paku Renyuk

Now I am coming back to share.

I make this dish Pucuk Paku Renyuk or vegetable umai for lunch time a month ago. A recipe;

Pucuk paku muda @ fiddlehead fern, a young shoot with the may leaf is better.
Lime/lemon or  assam payak either one.
Chilli
Anchovies
Belacan @ fermented shrimp paste
Red onion
Salt
Seasoning
The quantity as you wish or sesedap rase.

How.

Squeze the fern with the lemon to shrunken.

Then mix all together the ingredient above.

Hello Unai, I love this dish. Have not eaten this can't remember when, more than 28 years, I guess.
Wow! But this first time I see an Iban way of cooking this fiddlesticks.

We have these growing in the wilds here in Canada, as well sold in markets.
Love to see more of your Iban dishes.....especially fish.
I remember eating that Kapit fish (correct name?) wayyy back in the '80s.....one of the best fish dishes I'd ever tried.
Maybe if you cook it, send me telegram.
I've always been fascinated anything about Ibans.
Be seeing you....stay beautiful and keep a song in your heart.
Lee.

Hi Uncle Lee.

I think Kapit well known for it's Empurau fish. The most expensive fish in Kapit. It is really to hard to catch the fish nowaday, very rare.

Will do more sharing coming on.

Thanks for dropped by.
