I am missing my home sweet home.During evening, we use to bath and jumping at the river. Some was just sitting at the wooden trunk, watching the river flow. My kids enjoy this moment when we back to my hometown.
Now is dry season, the water level will be low as low until you can see the stones, the fish and the prawn and the water's color changing from orange or milo in color to crystal clear. This most waiting season because the season of catching the fish just by using the net and self made speargun.We call it senapang ikan. The catcher will go to dive inside the deep water and pierce the fish. I think spearfishing is environmental friendly. Some of the catcher using the electric shock to make the catching faster, which is harm the baby fish as well.
The women will go for baiting the river snails. The tapioca flour and rice husk use as a bait. Baiting snails is time consuming. After we dump the bait in the water, then wait a few hour for the snails to come.

Hello Unai, I love the way you describe about missing home. Its true, there's nothing like being 'home' where one is familiar or appreciates the natural environments.
Really interesting and good fun reading your mention of the river when its running low.
Nothing like living in the country side vs living in a hectic city.
I've been to Sarawak a few times, gone into the deep interior by longboat, and the few times the boatmen had to get out of the boat to push it between the visible rocks, boulders, and often seeing what you mentioned, of fish and prawns.
I have always loved Sarawak, its many peoples, Dyaks, Bidayus, Orang Ulus....and have twice stayed in a longhouse in the deep interior, sleeping in a plank, bamboo bilek.
And with bamboo pipes bringing cold water from uphill for washing, bathing.
